This was the funniest episode yet! And I love the idea of featuring unpopular fish.
Oh, to be a pimp fish.
However I will now try fresh sardines after this episode. As soon as I figure out my power fish.
Adorable, funny AND informative... but I've come to expect that from every glimpse of Ms. Becky.
Loved this podcast. Sore cheeks, from laughing.
My boyfriend swears by the little tins of Kipper Fish herring. They are his favorite after work snack. The look and smell of them made me a little scared to give them a chance. We listened to this show together (to prep myself) and then we shared a can. I have to say, they were quite delicious. Thanks for helping me through this, Spilled Milk.
Great job! so funny that it's hard to listen to on the bus without getting stared at!
Is that a sardine can in your pants or are you just happy to see me? Love this podcast, one of the best ever on SpilledMilk!
I absolutely love unpopular fish. In fact I just finished eating some sour cream herring. One of my favorite nigiri is saba (mackerel). When I lived in Davis there was an otherwise very good pizza place that didn't carry anchovies at all! My friend Mike and I started bringing a can of anchovies with us and having them put it on our pizza.
There's a very good fish monger where I now live in the Sierra Foothills who imports some wonderful white anchovies from Spain. They are not inexpensive, but they are quite good.
My wife and I lived in Norway for a year. The herring variety there is great. besides sour cream, there's mustard herring, and spiced herring (kryddersild). I miss kryddersild. We also ate lots of sardines.
Anyway, enough gushing about the fish. Cheers!
