This episode made me SO hungry while I was listening to it. Damn you both.
Awesome podcast this week, as always! I’ve been living in Bangkok for nearly a year now and still can’t get enough of the Som Tum. One of my favorite little lunch spots serves a “fried” version of laab gai where they coat chopped chicken breast in a flour/toasted rice powder combo and deep fry it before tossing it in the usual mint, cilantro, scallion, lime juice, fish sauce mix – incredible!
Oh man. Great podcast, and thanks for giving me another food blog to follow. Why apply to jobs when you can look at food all day, right?
Great podcast; love Thai salads.
Btw, quartet
Also, I have used a combo of white sugar with a smidge of maple syrup to sub for palm sugar
In a pinch, could you sub a more common veggie for the green papaya or green mango shreds?
Yes. Substitute slivers of peeled Granny Smith apple. It’s not the same, but it is good!
PS: I would love a five episode series on Thai Salads!
Thanks!

Aloha! Loving the podcast. Found some Rangpur limes at my farmer’s market and whipped up some green papaya salad. It was so great, thanks to your recipe!
